Darren Woodson played safety for the Dallas Cowboys from 1992 to 2003, becoming the franchise’s all-time leading tackler with 1,350 stops. Drafted in the second round out of Arizona State, Woodson combined hard-hitting physicality with excellent coverage skills, making him one of the most complete safeties of his era. He was a five-time Pro Bowler, a three-time First-Team All-Pro, and a key defensive leader during the Cowboys’ dynasty years, helping the team win three Super Bowls.

Woodson was best known for being a hard-hitting, versatile safety who could play the run, cover receivers, and provide veteran leadership on an elite Cowboys championship teams.
Lesser known fact:
Woodson was available to the Cowboys in the 1992 NFL Draft thanks to the legendary trade head coach Jimmy Johnson made, that fans all know as the “Herschel Walker trade”. Of all the players that Dallas drafted from the trade, Woodson would be the longest tenured player for Dallas, leaving one year after Emmitt Smith’s departure.
