Jalen Ramsey ran a fumble recovery back 62 yards for his first Pittsburgh Steelers touchdown, then borrowed Justin Jefferson’s touchdown celebration. The score, which would have given Mike Tomlin’s team a touchdown lead over the Minnesota Vikings, didn’t stand, however.

After review, the replay official ruled that Vikings tailback Jordan Mason was laying out of bounds and touched the ball — which was ripped loose by safety Chuck Clark — killing the play and wiping away Ramsey’s scoop-and-score. Five plays later, Kevin O’Connell’s side booted a 41-yard field goal to go up.

Ramsey hadn’t found the end zone since his rookie year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, returning an interception 30 yards against the Tennessee Titans.

The 10th-year veteran defensive back has brought a certain attitude to the Steelers’ defense, which is faced with stopping talented young receiver Justin Jefferson on Sunday. Through the Vikings’ first two possessions, Jefferson had five catches for 43 yards. During that same span, Minnesota passer Carson Wentz had gone 7 for 7 for 71 yards.

Entering the matchup with the Vikings, Ramsey had 10 combined tackles and an interception, which came in a Week 2 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
