Fans are fed up with the Chicago Bears and we check out some Reacts survey results here.
The Chicago Bears win against the Green Bay Packers may have given our fans a slight bump in confidence, but the end-of-the-year press conferences from general manager Ryan Poles, team president Kevin Warren, and chairman George McCaskey likely dampened that.
Before the week 18 win game, our confidence in the franchise’s direction was at a season-low of 10%, and with the offseason underway, we’re only up to a robust 12%.
The continued boobery from Bears’ leadership makes it hard to drum up hope.
Poles stumbled through a second consecutive press conference just a few weeks after his post-Eberflus firing presser, where he sulked next to Warren.
Warren’s meeting with the media on Tuesday gave him an opportunity to back his guy Poles, but his “a year is a lifetime” comment made it seem like they were still evaluating things.
McCaskey has never said anything that left me feeling good about the Bears, and that streak continued in his last press conference.
The Bears are looking at several candidates for their head coach vacancy, and that hire will either energize our fans or infuriate them.
Besides the weekly surveys we run here at WCG, there is also an emailed survey you can sign up for right here from SB Nation that poses questions about the NFL. This next result came from fans of all 32 teams, and the disappointing Bears were the fifth most surprising — in a negative way — team in the league this season.
Since Bears fans are invested in the coaching search, I wanted to see what the New England Patriots fanbase hopes for in their search. These results are from our sister site, Pats Pulpit, and the Reacts survey they ran earlier this week.
If you haven’t checked out Bill Zimmerman’s latest Bears Banter with the Chicago Tribune’s Dan Wiederer, you can listen to the show here for their thoughts on the direction of the franchise.
