The Washington Commanders held the team’s second full practice as they prepare for a road game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The team will be traveling on Friday, so Dan Quinn said injury decisions would be made for Sunday’s game today. The Commanders ruled out three players and they won’t travel with the team. WRs Terry McLaurin(quad) and Noah Brown(groin) won’t be on the field when Jayden Daniels makes his return to the field and to his home state of California. McLaurin is missing his second game, while Brown is out for his third straight.

Sam Cosmi’s 21-day practice window was opened yesterday. This gave him three weeks to get back on the active roster, or he gets shut down for the season. Cosmi tore his ACL during a divisional round playoff win over the Detroit Lions. Cosmi talked ab out getting back into football shape, and prepared for the rigors of an NFL season in the locker room yesterday. He’ll get another week of practice and won’t be making his season debut vs the Chargers. The Commanders will be able to make this decision two more times before having to activate him or place him on IR.

Jayden Daniels was medically cleared and was on the field for another full practice today. He told reporters yesterday that he expects to be on the field vs the Chargers, and he’s feeling good at practice. Daniels missed the last two games, with backup QB Marcus Mariota filling in.

John Bates got another full practice in today, and looks to be in line to make his return to the field this week. He’s missed the last two games due to a groin injury from the Commanders’ Week 2 loss to the Packers. Second-year TE Ben Sinnott has been taking on some of Bates’ blocking responsibilities, and OT Trent Scott has been used as a 6th OL. Bates is considered one of the best blocking TEs in the league, and his return will be a boost to the offense.

CB Mike Sainristil(knee), and WR Deebo Samuel(heel) missed another practice after showing up on the injury report yesterday. Wide receivers and the secondary have been dealing with a lot of injuries early in the season, and missing either of these starters will be an issue in LA. They will both be on the team’s flight, and they will be given the chance to show they can play.

UDFA rookie S Ale Kaho is in the concussion protocol after a hard hit last week. He didn’t practice yesterday, but was a limited participant today. That might not be enough to get cleared in time to be avaialable on Sunday. S Percy Butler didn’t practice at all last week due to a hip injury, and he was limited again today.
