Terry McLaurin wants out.
Contract negotiations between McLaurin and the Washington Commanders are clearly not progressing in a meaningful manner.
According to multiple reports, the star wideout is now demanding a trade since he cannot get the contract that he desires.

Both Schefter and The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that Washington has no intention of moving on from McLaurin. The latter noted that “Over the last few months, multiple teams have reached out to the Commanders to inquire about trading for McLaurin. Each time, they were told no.”
The Washington Commanders’ star wide receiver has been seeking a new contract this offseason. He did not initially report to training camp before eventually joining his teammates as a “hold-in.”
Now, he’s taking things further.
Shortly before training camp, Terry McLaurin voiced his frustration over contract talks to reporters, saying he planned on continuing his career as a Commander, but wants to play for a franchise only if they recognize his value.
“I’ve been pretty frustrated, I’m not going to lie,” McLaurin said.
“Everything that has transpired up to this point has been disappointing and frustrating. I want to continue my career here, I’ve created my life here, my wife and I have bought our first home here. So this has been somewhere where I’ve always wanted to be. Just to see how things have played out has been disappointing. Obviously I understand everything is a business, but at the same time I want to put myself in a position where I’m valued and I feel appreciated and things like that. Unfortunately, that hasn’t transpired the way I want it to, so I’m just trying to take things day by day.”
Unless something changes, McLaurin is set to enter the final year of a three-year contract he signed back in 2022. That contract placed him in the top five of highest-paid wide receivers at the time of that signing.

McLaurin was hoping to sign a new contract.
Last season, McLaurin had a career season, recording 82 receptions for 1,096 yards.
The former Ohio State Buckeye will turn 30 years old in September, but he has also been one of the most consistent wideouts since coming into the league.
Many teams would love to have him on. It remains to be seen if the Commanders will deal him.
