Commanders Reacts Survey: Grading Adam Peters’ draft classes

This week’s survey will have three questions, with a strong focus on Washington’s draft picks under Adam Peters.

In today’s second question, we ask you to grade Washington’s 2024 Friday & Saturday draft class as a whole — so, not including Jayden Daniels from Round 1 — based on what you know about the eight players to date.

Round 2

Pick 36 – Johnny Newton

2024 – Played 16 games, 51% of defensive snaps. 44 tackles; 6 TFL; 2 sacks; 1 forced fumble; 1 fumble recovery.

2025 – 5 games, 34% of defensive snaps. 8 tackles; 2 TFL; 1 sack; an important tipped pass vs Chargers

Pick 50 – Mikey Sainristil

Snap counts: 2024 = 90% ; 2025 = 90% (2025, 26% of special teams snaps; one critical offsides penalty)

2024 – 60.4% comp rate; 12.8 yds p/comp; 7.7 yds/tgt; 6 TD allowed; 96.7 pass rating against; 235 YAC; 4 blitz

2025 – 77.8% comp rate; 15.5 yds p/com; 12.1 yds/tgt; 2 TD allowed; 114.4 pass rating against; 87 YAC; 1 blitz

Pick 53 – Ben Sinnott

snap counts: 2024 = 27% offense/33% on ST ; 2025 = 29% offense/33% ST

2024 – 5 rec, 28 yds; 1 TD – PFF blocking grades: run=73.7 / pass=30.4

2025 – 1 rec, 7 yds; 0 TD – PFF blocking grades: run=62.3 / pass=81.0

Round 3

Pick 67 – Brandon Coleman

Coleman was active for 16 games in 2024 with 12 starts at left tackle. The Commanders traded for Laremy Tunsil in the offseason and shifted Coleman to LG. He started 2 games at the new position before being benched in Week 3 in favor of 4th year player, Chris Paul. Coleman has been inactive for the past three games with little explanation offered by coaches.
