There is a new type of prank call that has been going viral on social media lately where someone films a bro calling one of his bros to say goodnight and see how they react. For this video, Washington Commanders CB Mike Sainristil gives Jayden Daniels and Sam Hartman calls.
Jayden Daniels, in Sainristil’s phone as JD5, is completely and utterly baffled as to why a CB on his team is calling to wish him sweet dreams. Sam Hartman is just happy to be included in the gag.
Sainristil’s partner Seli Carvalho is filming as second-year Commanders CB Mike Sainristil out of Michigan hollers at his boys to make sure they all get a good night’s sleep. He has to keep smashing the mute button on his phone as he is dying laughing between phrases but manages to mostly keep it together.

This is the second one of these ‘calling my boys to wish them goodnight’ prank videos I’ve seen on TikTok so far this week and it’s definitely the best yet. After the Commanders and the NFL both commented on the video, I am a bit concerned that this trend will die before it has a chance to peak because they took it mainstream too fast but it’s great. Nobody expects a goodnight call from one of the fellas.
This is the first of the two ‘calling to say goodnight’ prank calls I saw earlier in the week. Your boys never expect you to say “I hope you sleep tight, bro.” There’s some explicit language in this video, so be forewarned if you would prefer not to hear that:

The advent of Caller ID decades ago was ultimately the nail in the coffin of prank calls which died a slow death until caller ID was ubiquitous across cellphones and land lines were phased out by nearly everyone. Knowing who is calling you killed the element of the surprise. Sure, there are ways around that but caller ID is ultimately the greatest factor in the death of the prank call… That said, they’re still as funny as they ever were.
Any time I need a hearty laugh I hit ‘play’ on the John Cena Prank Call. It’s arguably the G.O.A.T. of prank calls. There’s no way to listen to this without laughing:
