According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, and his annual league survey conducted by league executives, coaches, and scouts, Indianapolis Colts ascending 2nd-year tight end Tyler Warren is a Top 5 player at his position:

5. Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts

Highest ranking: 3 | Lowest ranking: 10
Age: 24 | Last year’s ranking: N/A

Warren was considered a can’t-miss prospect coming out of Penn State in 2025. And it appears draft evaluators were correct.

“He lived up to expectations,” an NFC scout said. “He’s a true Y who can handle the point-of-attack run game assignments but carried over his versatile, game-impacting receiving ability that showed up during his Penn State days.”

Warren had 817 receiving yards — 125 of which came after first contact — in Year 1, ranking third among all rookies. He accounted for 42 first downs and one dropped pass on 111 targets.

“He can kick your ass in the run game on one play and win as a receiver on the next,” an NFL personnel evaluator said.

Selected by Indianapolis with the 14th overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, the 24-year-old had an impressive rookie debut with the Colts. He caught 76 receptions for 817 total receiving yards and 4 touchdown receptions, as well as had a rushing touchdown during 17 games (12 starts).

Arguably the top tight end prospect in last year’s draft class, Warren was as good as initially advertised—if not better.

Particularly what stood out was Warren’s versatility at the tight end position, as he made an immediate impact with his receiving, blocking, and even rushing with the football in certain short yardage situations.

With big bodied possession wideout Michael Pittman Jr. traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and starting quarterback Daniel Jones health-ier, Warren should only take another step forward in his production during his ensuring and upcoming sophomore campaign.

Still, it’s pretty impressive he’s already widely considered a Top 5 player at his position among league circles after only one season.
