Pitt continues asserting himself as the #1 receiver, and there are probably not a lot of better jobs than being the top dog on an offense as productive as the Colts is. Less than halfway through the season he has already tied his career high in touchdowns, consistently leads the team in targets, and is clearly enjoying life with Daniel Jones at quarterback. He finished the game with 8 catches on 9 targets, for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Colts’ longtime center Ryan Kelly left for the Vikings in the offseason after nine years with the team, leaving big shoes to fill. Fortunately, Bortolini has more than stepped up in his abscence, as he did last season when Kelly missed seven games. The young center continues improving week after week and is one of the reasons why JT is having such a dominant year on the ground.
A season high four punts for Rigo, who must have been exhausted after the game finished. Now in all seriousness, even though the Colts do not punt that much, when they do, it is nice to have a player that can consistently flip the field. He averaged 47.3 yards per punt, and did not allow a big return.
J.T. Tuimoloau, Adetomiwa Adebawore, and Neville Gallimore all showed up against the Titans. JTT played a season high 35 snaps, and showed some really good stuff. With how mediocre Paye has been rushing the passer I would not be surprised if the rookie sees the field more and more as the season progresses. Ade Ade has been among the most pleasant surprises for the Colts this season, and he had another good game against the Titans, this time also getting himself a sack.
It is hard to believe that Pratt was signed basically off the street a couple of weeks ago after being released by the Raiders right after they lost to the Colts. His familiarity with Anarumo is evident, slotting into the starting position after Bachie’s release and not missing a single step. He is nothing special, but him being a solid tackler, and average in coverage is already an upgrade over Bachie. He should continue as a full time starter playing 100% of the snaps the rest of the year.
Lammons played half of the snap, shared with Johnathan Edwards, but the veteran seems to have the upper hand for that cornerback depth spot, and with Jaylon Jones and Mooney Ward status’ uncertain, that could be translated into meaningful playing time. There is a battle right now between Lammons, Mekhi Blackmon, and Johnathan Edwards, and Sunday’s game put Lammons toe-to-toe with Blackmon for the lead.
