According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Indianapolis Colts received an encouraging injury update on 4th-year wideout Alec Pierce, who injured his groin during Sunday’s training camp practice:
Entering a contract year, the former 2022 2nd round pick of the Colts led the Horseshoe in reception yards (824) and touchdown receptions (7) last year, featuring a whopping 22.3 yards per reception average, during 16 games (13 starts). That was despite the Colts’ inconsistent play at starting quarterback too.
Along with AD Mitchell and Tyler Warren, he’s been one of the Colts’ biggest receiving standouts so far at camp.
Of course, the Colts cannot afford to lose another key player, so Piece returning to the field sooner rather than later is great news for Indianapolis offensively. Right now, their injury list resembles a CVS pharmacy receipt.
