Stampede Blue
Even after their four game winning streak was snapped in Pittsburgh, Indianapolis Colts (7-2) fans are still confident that their team is headed in the right direction—92% to be exact:
For good reason why too, as even after the recent tough road loss, the Colts still sit atop the AFC and made a blockbuster move earlier in the week to significantly upgrade their depleted cornerback room.
Specifically, the Colts made national headlines just ahead of the this early week’s trade deadline, acquiring 2x NFL All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner for two future first round picks and wideout A.D. Mitchell.
While that cost was no doubt steep for a cornerback—even one as young and talented as Gardner, there’s a good majority of Colts fans that graded the surprising trade deadline deal with higher marks on the scale.
Namely, 49% of Colts fans gave it an A, while another 39% said longtime general manager Chris Ballard and Co. earned a B. A much smaller chunk of Colts fans gave them some lower marks respectively:
Time will tell whether Gardner lives up to what the Colts will ultimately give up, but he’s a young, elite cornerback when things are going right and figures to help Indianapolis both in the short-term and well beyond.
The Colts didn’t just acquire key competition, a stopgap, or a bandaid, but a bona fide CB1 just hitting his prime—and joining Charvarius Ward (when healthy) and Kenny Moore II, it’s arguably the best cornerback trio in all of football.
Of course, Gardner, having cleared the league’s concussion protocol earlier this week, is expected to make his Colts debut in Berlin, Germany, against the road Atlanta Falcons this weekend.
97% of Colts fans believe that Indianapolis will be victorious versus Atlanta and perhaps start a new winning streak. Prost!
