The Indianapolis Colts (5-7) head to face the New England Patriots (3-9), where the Horseshoe hasn’t won since November of 2006.
Of course, this once heated AFC rivalry between the Colts and Patriots has lost a lot of its past luster—as both teams have fallen on harder times since the legendary Peyton Manning and Tom Brady each infamously donned the iconic helmets of their respective squads.
In particular, the Colts have had a steady fall of grace since falling to the Patriots on the road in the 2014 AFC Title Game and the ensuing national ‘Deflate-Gate’ controversy—with just one playoff win and zero division titles since then.
Having lost four of their last five games, the Colts simply haven’t been able to consistently string wins against the NFL’s better teams this season yet again.
Only 30% of Colts fans believe that the franchise is headed in the right direction right now—which is well down from the 56% last week:
Their saving grace right now though is that the Colts have a very soft schedule to close out the 2024 regular season—with just the Denver Broncos in Week 15 (road) as the only realistic playoff hopeful among otherwise current NFL bottom feeders as the competition.
Regardless of whether Foxborough has been a personal ‘House of Horrors’ for the Colts franchise over nearly the past 20 years, 75% of the Horseshoe Faithful believe that Indianapolis will ‘take care of business’ and keep their playoff hopes alive—besting Patriots’ rookie 3rd overall pick, starting quarterback Drake Maye, in the process:
