The Indianapolis Colts don’t play this week on bye, but there were still some pertinent questions to ask—and the results are in!
The Indianapolis Colts (6-7) do not play this week on BYE against a critical road matchup against the Denver Broncos (8-5) (also on BYE) as the Horseshoe attempts to usurp their fellow horse for the AFC’s final playoff spot (the #7 seed).
The Colts are coming off a thrilling late comeback road victory against the New England Patriots, and a little more than half of the Horseshoe Faithful (54%) are confident the franchise is headed in the right direction—up from just 30% last week:
NFL.com indicates that the Colts have a 28% chance of making the playoffs—meaning there’s still a chance—albeit it’s a bit of a longshot. A victory against Denver would certainly help the Colts’ odds, who otherwise have a very favorable schedule to close out the season.
Speaking of coincidences, that’s right 28% of Colts fans believe that Indianapolis will make the playoffs this season, which exactly aligns with their current projection from NFL.com.
After Denver, who’s obviously a serious AFC playoff hopeful, the Colts play the likes of the Tennessee Titans (3-9), at New York Giants (2-10), and Jacksonville Jaguars (2-10).
On the other hand, the Broncos face the following opponents: at the Los Angeles Chargers (8-4), at the Cincinnati Bengals (4-8), and Kansas City Chiefs (11-1).
While it’s unclear if the Colts can make an actual late season playoff push, it’s pretty certain that things should be fairly interesting to close out the 2024 season—to say the least.
