Beating the Rams, whether it be the St. Louis or Los Angeles iteration has proven difficult. It has been such a challenge for the Indianapolis Colts that they haven’t done it since 2009. This appears to be a season of changes, however, so this is as good a time as ever to break the current four game losing streak against the Rams. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Colts coming in as 3.5-point underdogs, so they will certainly have their work cut out for them.
The money line sits at +166 while the over/under is 47.5.
The Colts hype train refuses to slow down as they rolled over the Tennessee Titans to improve to 3-0. Things started fast and furiously as Kenny Moore picked off Cam Ward and returned it for an early 7-0 lead. The Colts never looked back as the defense kept the Titans’ offense in check more times than not, and the Colts offense showed it has been no early season fluke. Jonathan Taylor scored three times and broke a huge run, while Daniel Jones showed off his ability to escape, keeping plays alive and putting up another impressive performance.
Meanwhile, the Rams melted down in Philly. Leading 26-7 in the third, the Rams were well on their way to a 3-0 start themselves. Unfortunately for them, the level of competition they faced was much higher than the Colts. The defending Super Bowl champs refused to break as they battled back. The Eagles took the lead late in the fourth quarter and then blocked a 44-yard game winning field goal attempt from the Rams.
The Rams will look to bounce back after a soul crushing loss. The Colts will seek to continue their “exorcising demons tour” by ending their losing streak against the Rams. A 4-0 start is on the line and would go a long way towards legitimizing the Colts. It won’t be easy, but play like they have and there is more than a fighter’s chance to be had in week four.
