Field Gulls
Ripe off of a win against an Atlanta Falcons team who already lost their starting quarterback to a season-ending injury, the Seahawks will be facing a similar situation next week.
Daniel Jones has been putting together a shocking, late bloom season with the Indianapolis Colts. He is one of only nine QB’s coming into Week 14 with a QB Rating above 100 (101.3) and is a prime candidate for the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year Award. That feel-good story is coming to an end.
Already playing through a fractured left fibula, Jones reportedly tore his Achilles, which would obviously end his season, and it’s an injury that could affect him into next year. This is especially rough for Colts fans, as the organization had just sent two first-round picks over to the New York Jets to go all-in on Sauce Gardner, Daniel Jones and this current Indianapolis team.
It is yet to be seen if the Colts will roll with sixth-round rookie Riley Leonard against the Seahawks in Week 15, or if embattled and injured Anthony Richardson can be activated from IR ahead of the game. Either way, Indy may be forced to lean on a run-heavy approach as they fight to hang onto the cusp of the AFC playoff picture.
