Was not pretty, but Colts still in the playoff race

MVP of the Game: Anthony Richardson

Talk about the box score and the completion rate/interceptions all you want, if you watch the games you know that this guy has what it takes. He is not free from mistakes, I’ll give you that, but in a roster full of losers this guy is clearly a winner. He wins. He just completed his second game-winning drive in the past three weeks, and for this one he had to work his butt off given he did not get a lot of help from his playmakers dropping balls. 3 total touchdowns, the game-winning run, and another win to his belt as the Colts continue on their path to an unlikely AFC wild card spot.

Dud of the Game: AD Mitchell

With Josh Downs out I expected an AD Mitchell breakout game, or at the very least some production. That did not materialize, and the young wide receiver finished the game with no catches, and a key drop on a what could have been a long touchdown pass. So far his rookie season has been a massive disappointment, but there is still plenty of time to turn things around.

Best play of the game: Richardson’s game-winning 2-point conversion

Was there ever any doubt that he was going to keep the ball himself? And that he was going to use his massive body to get the conversion no matter what? Special mention to Nelson’s block, that made the play happen.

Worst play of the game: Defense

Go ahead and look up “Patriots offensive depth chart”, and then tell me if that is a group that should be putting up over 400 total yards on you. The Colts had no answer for rookie quarterback Drake Maye, and one has to recognize that they caught two key breaks on the missed short field goal, and then the interception inside the redzone. The Pats punted the ball away just once, and drove up and down the field at will.

Best position group: Vacant

The offensive line had a nice game, but it is not like they were going up against tough opposition. The secondary struggled, the linebackers were terrible, the defensive line got demolished by one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL, and the wide receivers/tight ends did not do AR any favors. Overall I think this award is best left vacant for today.

Unsung hero: Nick Cross / Mark Glowinski

The young safety finished the game with 9 total tackles and a sack, having himself once again a solid game. I would have liked for him to be used near the box more to give him a better chance at getting in the backfield, but it was still yet another game of him establishing himself as the safety of the future for the team. As for Glowinski, what more is there to say. He was picked up from the street...
