The Indianapolis Colts (8-4) announced their inactives ahead of Sunday afternoon’s game (1 PM EST) against the Jacksonville Jaguars (8-4) to determine who will continue to sit atop the AFC South after this Week 14.
Those inactives include cornerback Sauce Gardner (calf), running back D.J. Giddens, defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis (ankle), safety Reuben Lowery III, tight end Will Mallory, safety George Odum, and offensive tackle Luke Tenuta.
Among injured inactives, both Gardner and Lewis were ruled out entering and/or during the weekend.
It looks as though with Lewis out, the Colts elected to keep an extra defensive lineman on the roster, as the team elevated veteran Chris Wormley from the practice squad earlier this weekend, and backup defensive tackle Eric Johnson II is also active, unlike last week where he was somewhat surprisingly a healthy scratch (especially with fellow defensive tackle DeForest Buckner [neck] still on injured reserve).
It looks as though that renewed availability this week came at the expense of veteran safety George Odum’s playing time, who’s a healthy scratch this week—although the former 2x NFL All-Pro core special teamer has recently been deployed as a special teams replacement for still Colts injured wideout Ashton Dulin as a gunner.
Otherwise, the rookie Giddens, Lowery III, Mallory, and Tenuta have consistently been healthy scratches all season as of late, rounding out the bottom of the Colts active roster.
