The Indianapolis Colts are riding high after ending their 11-game opening week skid, knocking off the Miami Dolphins at home. The home stand continues this week against the Denver Broncos. These two teams met last year in which the Broncos effectively ended the postseason hopes of the Colts. This time around, the Colts are looking to change the narrative. FanDuel Sportsbook shows the Colts will have to overcome the odds as they are 2.5-point underdogs in the spread.
The current money line comes in at +122 with the over/under at 43.5.
The Colts couldn’t have looked much better on Sunday as they completely dominated the Dolphins on both sides of the ball. Early turnovers allowed them to race out to a lead, and they never looked back. Free agents, rookies, and second year players flashed as the new quarterback in town looked fantastic. Daniel Jones was in complete command of the offense. A better conversion rate in the endzone might be the only qualm if one wants to nit pick. Otherwise getting to 1-0 and in the way they did, was a beautiful site to see.
The Broncos took on the new look Tennessee Titans and their rookie quarterback, Cam Ward. Bo Nix began his second year and looked shaky, being unable to protect the ball. Turnovers allowed the Titans to keep things close for the majority of the game, but they couldn’t seem to capitalize on them. The Broncos defense bent but didn’t break as they only allowed field goals. A touchdown midway through the fourth by J.K. Dobbins created enough distance and proved to be the backbreaker for the Titans. The Broncos will look to put together a more consistent performance in week two.
The horses meet once again in what could be a pivotal contest. Yes, it’s an early season matchup, but those are the ones that can make all the difference down the line. The Broncos are trying to get back to the postseason. The Colts are looking for some revenge from last year. Both teams would love nothing more than to start out of the gate 2-0. The Colts have a great opportunity to do just that.
