The Indianapolis Colts announced that the following players are inactive for Week 7’s road game against the Los Angeles Chargers (4:05 PM EST):
The real discouraging news came earlier in this weekend when cornerback Charvarius Ward (concussion) was placed on injured reserve after suffering his second concussion of the season during pre-game warmups after colliding with teammate tight end Drew Ogleetree. He’ll miss at least the team’s next four games.
Both cornerback Mekhi Blackmon and undrafted rookie Johnathan Edwards are projected to start on the outside again, just like during last weekend’s tough home win against the Arizona Cardinals.
The encouraging news though is that standout veteran slot cornerback Kenny Moore (II), who has missed the team’s last three games, will return from an Achilles injury—albeit, he could be on an initial pitch count in this one.
None of the other inactives are really surprising as wideouts Josh Downs (concussion) and Ashton Dulin (chest) were ruled out before the weekend, while backup running back Tyler Goodson (groin) was downgraded to out on Saturday. Recently signed veteran running back Ameer Abdullah will fill his prior pass catching role off the bench in relief of star workhorse Jonathan Taylor situationally.
