As we ever so quickly inch towards bowl season and the College Football Playoff, one thing we continue to learn week after week is that the race for this year’s National Champion is more open than ever before. Here are some potential Saints’ prospects that I am watching to see how they impact their teams this weekend.
Ja’Kobi Lane
The Arizona native is a top wideout for the USC Trojans this year. He has 18 receptions for 313 yards with two touchdowns to this point in the season and will be looking to add to his numbers in this week’s matchup versus the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Arvell Reese
The 6’4” linebacker from Ohio State is currently tied for the team lead for total tackles. Reese has also accumulated four and a half sacks on the year and should wreak havoc against a 2-4 Wisconsin squad when the two square off on Saturday afternoon.
Colton Hood
Although just a sophomore, Tennessee’s Colton Hood has already established himself as one of the top pass defenders in arguably the best conference in the nation. He and the Volunteers face a stiff road matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend. Hood already has six pass breakups and an interception, so I’ll be looking to see if Ty Simpson tests him early.
What are some other names you’re keeping an eye on throughout the back half of the season? Are there any players in particular that you’re hoping to see in a Saints’ uniform in 2026? Let us hear it in the comments!
