The Los Angeles Rams got a lot better this week after they acquired Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns, and some think they have a chance of getting even better. Aaron Donald, who hasn’t played in the past two seasons after retiring, was asked several times this week if he’s thought about returning to the Rams to play alongside Garrett.
“I’m for sure flirting with the idea,” Donald said to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. “Helluva an opportunity with the Super Bowl in SoFi this year. If I can find the fire, it’s a possibility.”
That has people thinking there’s actually a possibility that Donald could return. Colin Cowherd has already started to put the pieces together, and he made a bold prediction about the Rams.
“If Aaron Donald came back, there’s no doubt in my mind he would be elite. You’d have Byron Young on one side, Myles Garrett on the other. Poona Ford was the No. 1 rated nose tackle in the NFL last year. Braden Fiske has been a hit at defensive end, and Kobie Turner will get a big payday.

“Let me insert Aaron Donald. That would, without question, be the greatest compilation of defensive line talent ever put together.”
Cowherd has a point; the Rams could have one of the better defensive lines in NFL history. Donald is just two years removed from the game, and he still looks like he has a lot left in the tank. Not to mention, he was still playing at the top of his game when he stepped away.
For Donald to return, it looks as if the only way he’ll get back on the field is if he can find that fire. It’s uncertain how he’ll find it, but if he does, the rest of the league could be in trouble.
