Colin Cowherd Has A BIG Problem With How Dallas Coach Brian Schottenheimer Wears His Visor

Brian Schottenheimer was a rather surprising choice when Jerry Jones announced he was promoting the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator to the head coaching position in Dallas. It was made even more surprising when Jones made the announcement in what is known in the media as a “classic Friday news dump.”

“Brian Schottenheimer is known as a career assistant. He ain’t Brian no more. He is now known as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys,” Jones said about the move.

Then, just three days later, Jerry Jones said about the move, “This is as big a risk as you can take. As big a risk as you can take. No head-coaching experience.” He said this while sitting right next to Brian Schottenheimer at the press conference introducing him as the team’s next head coach.

While those two moments involving Schottenheimer were very strange, and they are, they pale in comparison to the rant Colin Cowherd went on during his show on Monday.

Colin Cowherd hates backward hats

“You know I don’t like backward hats,” said Cowherd. (Yes, we are all very well aware.) “You know what is worse? A backward visor. That’s a two-win team. I’m taking away four wins. That’s awful, that’s so bad…

“I know everybody gets mad at this. I only really care, like, for instance, Bank of America is behind him. It’s a big sponsor. And so, I do think if you are a head coach or the quarterback of an organization, and you do press conferences, you’re not only representing yourself. That’s very selfish and narcissistic. You’re representing the Dallas Cowboys and you’re representing Bank of America. That’s probably a huge team sponsor. They probably paid eight million bucks or something like that, seven million bucks, to the Cowboys. Some big money deal.

“So I tend to think here’s what men do very poorly,” Cowherd continued. “Men often don’t think of others in social situations. It’s ‘How do I look?’ Women tend to be a little more self-aware, little less narcissism. So when you sit in front of a podium, you’re representing the Cowboys, you’re representing Bank of America. You’re representing a $12 billion dollar corporation. I think you have got to do better as a head coach than a visor backwards. That’s just my take.”

What fans are saying

“Bruh, Belichick would wear torn sweatshirts with no sleeves and looked like he hasn’t bathed or slept in weeks, but you’re worried about a younger coach who JUST left practice to go stand in front of a podium?” one fan wrote on X (Twitter).

“That’s what we’re worried about these days?? A backwards visor??” read another comment.
