There is something about playing the Arizona Cardinals in Cincinnati in December that brings out highlight-reel plays from the Bengals.

First, we had Jerome Simpson’s front flip for a touchdown 14 years ago.

Sunday, we had the greatest big man catch and run in the history of the NFL.

Cody Ford’s 21-yard reception was a thing of beauty. He also made some history in the process. Ford is the heaviest player in NFL history to record a reception of over 20 yards from scrimmage in a game, according to researcher Dante Koplowitz-Fleming.

Ford is listed at 345 pounds. The majestic catch will go down in Bengals history as an all-timer.

The fans were hoping Ford would get a handoff at the 1-yard line to try and get the touchdown, but Coach Taylor opted to give the ball to Chase Brown instead.

Cody Ford wanted to make it clear that he is an athlete in the locker room after the game. The big man’s rumble on his birthday brought enjoyment to his teammates, as well. Joe Burrow was in pure amazement at what he was seeing as Ford scampered down the sideline.

Check out their reactions below.
