After a day off, the Browns were back at it in Berea.

Day 8 of Cleveland Browns training camp took place Friday. Here is our recap of the session.

Cleveland Browns Training Camp Report - Day 8 (8/1/25)

1. Pickett Returns: The damage wasn't too bad for QB Kenny Pickett missing action, as he returned to practice on Friday. He began with individual drills for Day 8, but will probably move back into team drills on Saturday.

2. Stefanski on Preseason Opener: Will the Browns play their starters in the joint practice against Carolina, and/or in their preseason matchup next week?

3. Johnson Doing the Right Things: Time will tell how things go during the preseason games, but WR Diontae Johnson seems to be having a solid camp getting open and making all the catches:

4. Play of the Day: Cleveland needs CB Greg Newsome to step up and be an impact player. This was a good start to that, as he did a nice job breaking up QB Joe Flacco’s pass intended for WR Jerry Jeudy:

5. Gabriel Struggles: After a fairly solid camp, this wasn't a good day for QB Dillon Gabriel. He wss only 3-of-14 according to ESPN's stat tracker, including this interception off of a tipped pass:

6. Flacco With the TD: QB Joe Flacco ripped this pass to WR Jamari Thrash for a touchdown near the end of practice:

7. Brownies: LT Dawand Jones and OG Teven Jenkins returned to practice. ... CB Greg Newsome was a little banged up after his pass breakup earlier. ... WR Luke Floriea took a big hit but returned. ... DE Isaiah McGuire missed practice with an illness.

8. Next Up: The Browns next practice is Saturday at 9:30 am. It will be the seventh of eight practices open to the public. The theme will be “Browns Backers.” The food truck will be Kona Ice. The giveaway will be Rally Towels, courtesy of Gregory Industries.
