Cleveland Browns Training Camp Recap: Day 17 – The QB plan is set
Dawgs By Nature Dawgs By Nature

Day 17 of Cleveland Browns training camp took place Thursday. Here is our recap of the session.

Cleveland Browns Training Camp Report – Day 17 (8/21/25)

1. Browns QB Reps for Saturday: The plan is set for the Browns’ quarterback rotation in the final preseason game. Joe Flacco and the starters will be up first, hoping to get 20-25 snaps. Next up will be Dillon Gabriel, followed by Shedeur Sanders. There’s a chance Tyler Huntley could play, but as head coach Kevin Stefanski said, there are only so many snaps in a game.

2. Bad News for Watson: Watson’s season has officially come to an end with a torn biceps. LB Nathaniel Watson, that is. To have more bodies for the final preseason game, Cleveland re-signed WR Chase Cota, LB Marvin Moody, and LB Charlie Thomas III. RB Toa Taua was also waived.

3. Darting Across: We haven’t seen many interceptions this camp, especially from QB Joe Flacco. Here he is throwing one to rookie LB Carson Schwesinger on Thursday:

4. Mr. Joe Flacco: On the flip side, here is a strike to TE David Njoku, thrown by Joe Flacco (full name).

5. Mitchell With the Deflection: Since we have very few media notes from practice as camp comes to a close, we’re relying on the highlights posted by the official team account. Here, we have another pass from Flacco, this time intended for WR Jamari Thrash, but CB Cameron Mitchell gets his hand in front to knock it away:

6. Other Idle Players: The injury report for practice today is below. Someone made a good point earlier that LB Mohamoud Diabate has not practiced for undisclosed reasons for awhile now.

7. Passing on Words of Wisdom: QB Shedeur Sanders talked to the media after practice. While everyone is jumping on the quotes he made about QB Dillon Gabriel’s “entertainer” comment last week, I much rather enjoyed hearing how QB Tyler Huntley has talked to him and passed on words of wisdom when it comes to handling being a backup quarterback:

8. Next Up: The Browns will play the Rams in Cleveland this Saturday at 1:00 PM ET. Training camp reports should officially be done for the season now (I think), as the team will be moving toward final cuts and then preparing for Week 1.
