Myles Garrett and Ogbonnia Okoronkwo are both defensive ends for the Cleveland Browns.
It also looks like the two of them will be at odds with each other.
Garrett made headlines over the weekend, but not for anything to do with the Browns All-Pro defensive end’s football prowess.
Garrett was on the red carpet Sunday in Tokyo for the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. He wasn’t there as either an award winner or an award presenter but as the guest of Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim.
He was not present in Berea on Wednesday for the Browns’ second OTA session.
The absence of the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and 2024 finalist for that award was not a concern to coach Kevin Stefanski, but it was to a teammate.
Browns defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo liked an Instagram post that discussed Myles Garrett’s lack of leadership skills.

The post criticizes Myles for being in Japan and not at OTAs.

When the Browns gave Myles Garrett a $160 million contract, they asked him to step up as a leader. Garrett has decided to go overseas instead of being with his teammates.
As an individual, Garrett has all of the awards.
Since drafting him, the Browns have had just two winning records as a team. It is not his fault, but he certainly has to show the younger guys that he cares about turning things around.
Garrett has expressed a strong desire to play on a winning team and bring a championship to Cleveland, as evidenced by his trade request.
Once he got paid, that seemingly went out the window. We shall see what happens during the 2025 season.
