While head coach Kevin Stefanski is heading into his sixth season as head coach, the Cleveland Browns’ offense will look drastically different in 2025. For one, they’ll have a new starting quarterback, due to Deshaun Watson’s ongoing recovery from his December surgery to repair a torn Achilles.
Another new facet of the Browns’ offense is that they’ll be starting the season with a different running back after Nick Chubb signed with the Houston Texans this offseason. The question is, will the Browns move forward with second-round rookie Quinshon Judkins or another back on the roster?
Recently, The Athletic’s Browns reporter Zac Jackson predicted that it would be Jerome Ford who kicks off the season as Cleveland’s starting running back. Yet, that doesn’t mean there won’t be ample opportunities for Judkins to take over later on.
Of course, the Browns could always comb the waiver wire when rosters are trimmed down from 90 to 53 players, Yet, they may be eager to see what Ford, who’s still just 25 years old, can do after he averaged 5.4 yards per attempt last season.
Then, there’s also Judkins, who offers a high ceiling in his own right. Between the two, the Browns’ rushing offense has the potential to be drastically better than the version that ranked 20th in the NFL in yards per attempt last season.
