It seems like there’s a chance Myles Garrett has played his final snap for the Browns after he requested a trade in the wake of his eighth season with the franchise. Some fans subsequently attempted to organize a protest at the team’s stadium, but it’s safe to say the attendance left a lot to be desired.

Fans of the Cleveland Browns have not had a lot to root for since the turn of the new millennium, as the team has made the playoffs just three times since returning from its hiatus in the 1990s more than 25 years ago and has been the laughing stock of the NFL for a solid chunk of that span.

It was already a bit hard to be optimistic about the future due to the DeShaun Watson situation stemming from what is destined to go down as one of the worst contracts in NFL history, and one of the only bright spots was essentially extinguished on Monday when star linebacker Myles Garrett announced he was seeking a trade while citing his desire to “compete for and win a Super Bowl.”

As things currently stand, Browns GM Andrew Berry says he has no plans to accommodate that request; he doesn’t exactly have a ton of leverage when it comes to getting notable assets in return thanks to Garrett’s attempt to force his hand, and we could be treated to a standoff that extends to training camp and beyond unless he acquiesces.

Berry was responsible for the trade that sent Watson to Cleveland and the five-year, $230 million, fully guaranteed contract he received after arriving, and the bulk of the team’s current woes ultimately rest on his shoulders.

He was subsequently the primary target of the protest a Browns fan organized outside Huntington Bank Field on Monday night in the hopes a legion of supporters would flock there to promote the cause, and while they were able to get Cleveland 19 News to dispatch a reporter to cover the gathering, less than 20 people were assembled by the time the remote segment kicked off.

A group of fed up Browns fans gathered outside the stadium tonight. They said the news that Myles Garrett is now looking to leave Cleveland was the last straw for them, and now they’re calling for a change in leadership for the team.

They did, however, manage to get the attention of Shedeur Sanders by playing his song “Perfect Timing,” as the former Colorado QB who is currently gearing up for the NFL Draft gave them a shoutout after seeing the clip.

Good job, good effort.
