Antonio Brown may be facing a real possibility of spending time in prison.

The former NFL wide receiver’s life came tumbling down after he was extradited from Dubai to the United States in November. He had to face trial on an attempted murder charge related to a shooting earlier in the year. Brown is alleged to have stolen a firearm from a security guard during an incident at a celebrity boxing match in Miami.

He claimed he “was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me.”

In the days following the incident, he left the country and refused to return to the United States. Unfortunately for him, his social media posting allowed authorities to catch him and bring him back to the United States.

Now the news has only gotten worse for Antonio Brown.

New Footage Doesn’t Prove What Antonio Brown Claimed

Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is going to have to explain himself. What he alleged to have happened on the night he shot a gun does not match up with the video evidence.

Newly released police body camera video shows the moments Brown was handcuffed and detained after he allegedly fired gunshots. The May 17 fight is the cause of Brown’s latest legal woes as he faces an attempted murder charge.

The video opens with fans gathering outside. Brown is seen dressed in olive from head to toe. All seems fine until Brown is seen talking to a man. The conversation then pivots into a fight. Brown claims he was jumped and was the victim of attempted jewelry theft.

The video shows that the man was the one being jumped. Security guards quickly jump into the fight to attempt to break it up. At one point, one of the security guards falls, and Antonio Brown gets off the ground and kicks him.

That’s when, according to the arrest warrant, Brown struggles with that security guard. He allegedly grabbed a gun, chased the guy he was fighting, and shot at him. The crowd immediately hears the shot and runs the other direction.

According to Brown’s attorney, he grabbed his personal firearm and fired two warning shots.

If Brown’s case heads to trial and he’s found guilty, he faces up to 20 years in prison, per NBC.
