NFL trade rumors are flying as fast as ever with Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline now less than 24 hours away. To no surprise, Trey Hendrickson trade rumors are heating up too.

Of course, Hendrickson being the subject of trade rumors is nothing new. He’s been involved in rumors for the better part of a year. He even requested a trade from the Bengals during the offseason after both sides failed to come to terms on a long-term contract extension.

Hendrickson has since agreed to a small pay raise to make him happy for now, but he’s still set to be a free agent at the end of the season. Stuck on a 3-6 Bengals team, Hendrickson is a prime trade candidate before tomorrow’s deadline arrives.

Now, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Bengals have set their trade cost for teams to acquire Hendrickson, and it’s not cheap. According to Russini, the Bengals are holding out hope that a team will trade them a first-round pick in exchange for the NFL’s sack leader in 2024.

The Dolphins traded Jaelan Phillips to the Eagles, and he’s also on an expiring contract. But Miami only got a third-round pick in exchange for the 26-year-old former first-round pick. Phillips has also only ever recorded a season-best 8.5 sacks, compared to Hendrickson’s 17.5.

Hendrickson missed Sunday’s loss with a hip injury, but it’s not one that’s expected to keep him sidelined much longer, if at all. He’s still recorded a respectable four sacks in six games played. Playing on a different team, one that isn’t on pace to allow a new record-high in points, could offer more opportunities for Hendrickson.

Since the All-Pro will once again be trying to negotiate a long-term contract this offseason, Hendrickson likely wants to make sure he can finish on a high note. Yet, the four-time Pro Bowler has shown more than enough in his nine-year career to earn a hefty payday. Whether it happens in Cincinnati or another city remains to be seen.
