After a promising rookie campaign, Miami Dolphins pass rusher Chop Robinson had a somewhat disappointing sophomore season with the organization in 2025. Playing in 15 games, the young player amassed just 21 combined tackles, four tackles for loss and four sacks on opposing quarterbacks. He started just three games for the Dolphins last season.

While his pass rushing stats were lacking, his deficiencies in the run game were also noticeable. Heading into his third year in the National Football League, Robinson is aiming to address those issues.

This offseason, Robinson has been focused on adding bulk to his 6’3” frame — and the 23-year old claims he has added seven pounds already.

Speaking with the South Florida media last week, Robinson had this to say about his body transformation, and how he doesn’t feel the added weight will affect his quickness off of the ball.

“I was 258 when I finished last season. Now I’m at 265 now, so I feel good. I feel fast doing everything.”

New Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley understands the kind of player Robinson needs to become in order for him to have success at the professional level.

“He needs to become a complete football player going into year three. We have high expectations for him.”

Hafley went on to explain what the expectations are for Robinson heading into 2026.

“Hopefully he becomes an every down player. I think the easy answer is his pass rush, his get off, his ability to affect the quarterback, but I’m looking for a lot more from Chop. He’s going to play a position where he’s going to line up in a 9-technique and play on tight ends and he has to set the edge.”

It’s clear that Robinson will need to step up following the departures of pass rushers like Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb, however if he wants to find success within Miami’s new defensive scheme, he will need to become an all-around player, and not solely a menace to opposing quarterbacks.
