Rashee Rice isn’t just preparing for another breakout year with the Kansas City Chiefs; he was also facing legal ramifications as he faced eight felony charges from a street racing crash that made national headlines last year.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver was driving 119 mph before causing a six-vehicle crash on a Dallas highway.
Rice’s Lamborghini Urus reached 119 mph while a Corvette driven by SMU wide receiver Teddy Knox was traveling 116 mph 7.5 seconds before the chain-reaction collision.
The crash on the North Central Expressway (U.S. Route 75) left at least seven people with injuries.
On Thursday, Rice found out his punishment.
According to Adam Schefter, a Dallas judge has sentenced Rashee Rice to five years’ probation and 30 days of jail time that can be served at any point during those five years for his role in the accident.

Schefter added that now that the legal process for Rice has been concluded, the NFL will likely impose additional discipline in the form of a multi-game suspension.
The return of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice will be one of the most intriguing things to keep up with in 2025.
Rice has been stellar when he’s been on the field for the Chiefs. In two seasons played, Rice has collected 1,226 receiving yards and has scored nine touchdowns.
His emergence in the passing game sometimes made Travis Kelce null and void in 2024.
There is a ton riding on Rice to perform in year three for the Chiefs. The best way that Rice can turn the heads of several this season is by picking up where he left off.
Through four games last season before his season-ending injury, Rice collected 288 receiving yards and was on pace to be one of the best receiving options in the entire league.
