The Kansas City Chiefs will have two weeks to get ready for the Bills in 2025.
The Buffalo Bills play the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season, per multiple reports. That information was out around midday on Wednesday ahead of the official schedule release at 8 p.m. Eastern. In mid-afternoon, we got an added nugget from a schedule release note from The Athletic’s Nate Taylor.
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their bye before they travel to Buffalo to play the Bills.
Turnabout is fair play. The Bills came off their bye in 2023 to defeat Kansas City.
Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid has the best record in NFL history coming off a bye among coaches with at least 10 such games. His teams are 22-4 following his 26 regular season byes, a hair under 85% win percentage.
Sean McDermott’s record off the bye is pretty stellar, too. He’s a perfect eight-for-eight after the week off. Buffalo heads to Carolina in Week 8 this year after their Week 7 bye, the game before the Bills host the Chiefs. It’s pretty likely Buffalo will install some KC prep over their bye week to prep, but can’t look past McDermott’s former team to his former mentor.
