Look, there’s no sugar-coating things: This stinks, and feels a lot worse than that word alone can accurately describe. Saving editorial face, I’ll refrain from using more colorful language, but this game is not a highly anticipated affair for Buffalo Bills fans.

It’s a pick-your-poison situation, where the dark of two potions sees the Kansas City Chiefs hoisting the Lombardi Trophy a third-consecutive time as winners of Super Bowl LIX. That’s unprecedented territory and they do deserve their flowers — already so, in truth.

But the Philadelphia Eagles should have plenty to say about Kansas City’s chances, with Philly hoping to end KC’s three-peat quest. Can they do it? Absolutely. Will they? Decidedly not absolute.

The question for Bills Mafia is how they’d feel if the Eagles do win — namely what it would mean for quarterback Jalen Hurts. The idea of Hurts winning the Super Bowl before quarterback Josh Allen may be a pill too difficult to swallow.

Football is a team game, and for Hurts to win tonight, it will take Philly’s entire team to knock off the monster that resides in Kansas City. That means we’re probably going to see a healthy dose of running back Saquon Barkley, and plenty of discussion about dudes pushing other dudes’ tushes.

In the end, if Mahomes and company win another one it doesn’t do a ton to swing the narrative about his legacy one way or the other — which is also true should he be on the losing end. He’s already talked about as a future Hall of Fame player, mentioned in the same breath as Tom Brady.

If you’re team Bills, you can’t be rooting on the Chiefs to win this evening. That’s the crux of things will Bills fans who, after just getting away from the Brady-Belichick nightmare, now has to immediately endure a new dynasty in Mahomes and Reid.

That said, here’s your open thread for this evening’s game (and commercials, performances, food, etc.). As always, be kind to one another — and in all things... Go Bills!
