As the Pittsburgh Steelers possibly wait to add another receiver before the regular season kicks off, another one — who’s familiar with the Steel City — is now off the market.

With Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown entrenched as Patrick Mahomes’ top wideouts, the Kansas City Chiefs saw it fit to send the underperforming Skyy Moore across conferences on Wednesday night.

“Trade: Chiefs are sending WR Skyy Moore to the San Francisco 49ers,” Schefter wrote on X. “The 49ers have been decimated with injuries at WR. Brandon Aiyuk is recovering from a knee injury, Jauan Jennings has been dealing with a calf injury, Jordan Watkins has a high ankle sprain, DeMarcus Robinson is facing a three-game suspension. Enter Moore.”

The Chiefs packaged Moore with a seventh-round pick and got a sixth-rounder in return. Moore, a New Kensington native, played his high school ball at Shady Side Academy before heading to Western Michigan. Kansas City selected him in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Through three professional campaigns, he’s totaled only 494 receiving yards and one touchdown on 43 receptions. He was targeted just three times last season.

The Steelers, meanwhile, have DK Metcalf as the presumptive No. 1 option in their passing game. Behind him are Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson, the latter of whom has looked good this preseason. Scotty Miller, Robert Woods and Ben Skowronek are also vying for roster spots.

It appears the trade market for a receiver isn’t what the Steelers would like at this point. Mike Tomlin’s team might have to wait until roster cut-downs to find another option.
