The Kansas City Chiefs have long fought for their right to party, but eventually, the fight runs out, and so does the party.
The Chiefs put a shameful effort on display against the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl 59 on Sunday as they failed to complete the three-peat they had been chasing since beating the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl 58 last year.
A video from their afterparty has since surfaced online, and it’s a pretty sad sight.
DJ Dillon Francis shared his performance in an Instagram video, showing off a pretty droll scene after playing in front of the smallest crowd ever despite preparing for a crowd of at least 11,000 people.
“Sometimes you have to go back to your roots and DJ for 3 people,” he wrote as the caption to the clip exposing the empty dance floor.
In case you’re wondering why the Chiefs threw an afterparty following their blowout loss, Super Bowl teams typically rent out venues just in case. However, KC players and fans were understandably not in party mode after their 40-22 loss.
Some of them showed up for Shaboozey, however.
Travis Kelce is probably the biggest party animal on the Chiefs, but he had nothing left in him, so he FaceTimed The Chainsmokers from his hotel room instead. Patrick Mahomes also stayed indoors.
The star tight end has reportedly been given a month to tell the Kansas City Chiefs whether he plans to retire amid rumors that Sunday’s game may have been his last one in the pros.
