Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce becomes fastest in NFL history to reach 13,000 receiving yards | KMBC
He joins Jason Witten and former Chief Tony Gonzalez as the only tight ends to reach the mark.
Kelce reached the milestone in 192 games, making him the fastest tight end in NFL history to reach 13,000 receiving yards.
Gonzalez needed 232 games, and Witten needed 259 games.
Asked what he’d remember most about Travis Kelce if Week 18 turned out to be his last game, Jones made a prediction.
“I don’t buy that,” Jones told reporters. “He’ll be back next year.”
FOX 4 Kansas City’s Rob Collins quickly responded: “Do you promise?”
“I can’t promise you anything about another man, but I just don’t know,” Jones said. “I don’t know. This year was a tricky year for us. I’ve got faith my dog is coming back.”
Chiefs Have New QB Issue to Worry About in Offseason After Week 18 | KC Kingdom
Any chance that Oladokun had to be the backup quarterback is now officially down the drain and there’s a good chance that Minshew could look for another team when he hits the market again next spring. Even if Minshew wants to come back, the Chiefs probably don’t want to hold their breath over two recovering quarterbacks, pointing further toward finding a different option to go into next season.
The list of candidates isn’t impressive, though it has some names that could start if Mahomes isn’t ready for the beginning of the season. Russell Wilson, Marcus Mariota and Joe Flacco may not come as cheap as Minshew, yet it’s worth the cost of insurance to make sure Oladokun’s performance on Sunday doesn’t bleed into the 2026 season where KC hopes to contend again.
Michigan Football hiring Alex Whittingham as linebackers coach | Maize N Brew
According to the press release, “Whittingham worked closely with defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo since his hiring in 2019. He has assisted some of the league’s top defensive players, including defensive linemen Frank Clark and Chris Jones; linebackers Nick Bolton, Dee Ford, Willie Gay, Justin Houston and Drue Tranquill; defensive back Trent McDuffie. The Chiefs were top-10 in points against in six of Whittingham’s eight seasons on staff, including a top-six mark in each of the last three years. In each of his last four seasons (2022-25), the team was also top-12 in yards allowed per game.”
