Linebacker Jeff Bassa, safety Deon Bush and cornerback Eric Scott missed Kansas City’s Day 7.
As the Kansas City Chiefs’ seventh training camp practice got underway at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph on Tuesday morning, three players were held out of practice for the first time: rookie linebacker Jeff Bassa (ankle sprain), safety Deon Bush (hamstring) and cornerback Eric Scott (hamstring).
They joined cornerback Kristian Fulton, tight end Jake Briningstool and cornerback Darius Rush, who also did not practice.
Fulton has missed all of training camp’s practice sessions, recovering from an offseason cleanup surgery to his knee. He remains on the Active/PUP (physically-unable-to-perform) list. So far, there is no timetable for his return. Briningstool missed his third day of training camp with a hamstring injury to his left leg. Rush was reported to have suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday’s practice. He’s now missed two full days.
As practice got underway, wide receiver Xavier Worthy landed awkwardly as he was trying to make a catch. He immediately walked to the medical tent — but after a short time, returned to practice. After practice concluded, head coach Andy Reid said that Worthy had hit his head.
Later in the session, wideout Hollywood Brown pulled up in the back of the end zone. He also went to the medical tent, but left practice in the front seat of a cart. Reid said he was dealing with an ankle injury.
Wide receiver Skyy Moore also left practice riding in the passenger seat of a cart. No injury had been observed, but Reid reported he had a hamstring issue.
Reid also told reporters that offensive lineman Griffin McDowell had missed practice with an illness.
