On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs host the world champion Philadelphia Eagles on GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for a Week 2 contest.
But this is more than just a rematch of Super Bowl LIX, when the Eagles humiliated the Chiefs 40-22 to deny Kansas City a third straight Super Bowl victory. The Chiefs looked listless as they opened their season against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil last Friday, recording a 27-21 loss that was only the team’s third Week 1 defeat since head coach Andy Reid took over in 2013. With another loss on Sunday, the Chiefs will have their first 0-2 start since 2014 — the last season Kansas City missed the playoffs.
To say the least, a lot is riding on this matchup.
