On Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced that they are elevating cornerback Kevin Knowles and defensive tackle Brodric Martin for Sunday’s matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. Both players will revert to the practice squad after the game.

Shortly afterward, the team added superstar defensive tackle Chris Jones to the injury report for personal reasons.

Since Jones was given no game designation, the team expects him to play in Sunday’s game.

Knowles — who originally joined the Chiefs as a rookie free agent in April — is receiving the call for a third consecutive game. He played 10 snaps on special teams in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles before contributing 11 on the third unit last week against the New York Giants. He has not taken the field on defense so far in his short NFL career.

Because he has now been moved to the gameday roster three times, Knowles is not eligible to be elevated again until the postseason. If the Chiefs need him for another game before then, he will have to be activated to the 53-man roster.

The Detroit Lions selected Martin with the 96th overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. He was waived during the team’s final roster cutdown after appearing in just five games during his first two seasons. He signed with Kansas City’s practice squad a few days later. With two-time NFL rushing champion Derrick Henry on tap for Sunday, the Chiefs have a 326-pound nose tackle available.

The Ravens also made a series of moves on Saturday. After declaring defensive tackles Nnamdi Madubuike and Broderick Washington out for Sunday, Baltimore placed both players on their Reserve/Injured list. 10-year veteran defensive lineman Brent Urban and tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden were activated from the Ravens’ practice squad to their active roster. Defensive tackles C.J. Okoye and Josh Tupou were elevated from the practice squad to face Kansas City.
