Each practice day of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs release an official injury report leading up to the next game. In the NFL’s Week 9, Kansas City travels to Highmark Stadium to face the Buffalo Bills at 3:25 p.m. Arrowhead Time on Sunday.
Here is the Chiefs’ final official injury report of the week, including game designations:

Some notes
For the Chiefs, two players have been declared out for Sunday: left tackle Josh Simmons (personal) and running back Isiah Pacheco (MCL sprain) missed all three of this week’s practices.
- This will be the fourth game Simmons has missed. His backup Jaylon Moore has been listed as questionable for the matchup after being held out on Friday with an illness. Head coach Andy Reid seemed confident, however, that he’ll play. “He’ll be back in and ready to go,” he told reported on Friday.
- Pacheco’s absence might very well open the door for running back Elijah Mitchell to be active in his first game for Kansas City. Reid, however, was not prepared to say whether Mitchell would play.
- Right guard Trey Smith (back) was upgraded to a full participant on Friday. While he has also been listed as questionable, Reid agreed that Smith should be “expected” to play.
- For the Bills, rotational defensive tackle DaQuan Jones (calf) did not participate for the third time this week. Rotational linebacker Shaq Thompson (hamstring) was held out for another day of practice. Rotational wide receiver Josh Palmer (knee – ankle) was again a limited participant. All three players have been listed as out for Sunday’s game.
- Cornerback Taron Johnson (groin) has started three games this season. He was added to the report on Friday as a limited participant. He is questionable for Sunday.
- Placekicker Matt Prater (right calf) was limited for the third day this week, but was not given an injury designation. He should be able to dress for the matchup.
