Kansas City announced some personnel changes on Saturday.
Over the weekend, the Kansas City Chiefs officially announced their personnel staff changes for the 2025 season.
The team has promoted both Mike Bradway (formerly senior director of player personnel) and Chris Shea (senior vice president of football operations and strategy) to become assistant general managers under Brett Veach, while Ryne Nutt (director of player personnel/college scouting) and Tim Terry (director of player personnel/pro scouting) are moving up to become vice presidents for player personnel. Marc Richards (formerly a football research analyst) has been promoted to director of football research and development.
Meanwhile, Dru Grigson has been named the team’s senior college and pro scouting executive, and Sarah Pollack has been hired as a football data science fellow.
Many of these moves have come about as a result of the Tennessee Titans hiring former assistant general manager Mike Borgonzi as their new GM in January. Once called the Chiefs’ “secret weapon” by NFL Network analyst and AP lobbyist Peter Schrager, Borgonzi was promoted to assistant general manager in 2021 after spending three years as the director of football operations.
This leaves Shea, Bradway, Nutt and Terry as the Chiefs’ executives to watch when there are general manager openings elsewhere in the league. Shea spent time with the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles before coming to Kansas City, where he played a pivotal role in negotiating Patrick Mahomes’ 2020 megadeal. Veach often mentions Bradway, Nutt and Terry as key decision-makers in the personnel department.
