The Kansas City Chiefs have a significant matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15, but quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be without one of his top three wide receivers.
To open his Friday press conference, Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid mentioned wide receiver Hollywood Brown (personal) as one of the four players who missed the final practice of the week; he also missed Wednesday’s practice.
When asked if Brown would be available for Sunday, Reid made it clear: “No.”
The other three players mentioned are all offensive linemen. Tackles Wanya Morris (knee) and Jawaan Taylor (triceps – knee) missed every practice of the week. Right guard Trey Smith (ankle) did not practice Friday after limited participation on Thursday.
The head coach gave the media an update on Smith’s progress from the injury suffered in Week 12.
“[He’s] just not ready to go,” Reid declared. “He worked through and pushed himself, but I don’t think he’s quite there.”
Reid noted that cornerback Trent McDuffie practiced on Friday after limited availability on Wednesday and Thursday. He was the one silver lining from Reid’s update.
