Chicago Bears Training Camp Recap for 7/31: An off day from the defense

The roller coaster of training camp continues, and today was positive for the Bears’ offense.

As expected, today’s training camp practice was the longest one the Chicago Bears have had, and by the sounds of it, the offense responded.

Which, I suppose, means the defense had an off day?

I guess it’s all in how you want to look at it, but the Bears are 90 players striving towards one goal. When one phase wins, they all win, so keep that in mind during the ups and downs of training camp.

Braxton Jones, who is in a battle to keep the left tackle job, met the media after practice and said he’s “feeling pretty good” when asked about his fractured ankle from a season ago. “This injury’s definitely been very tough on me. I’ve learned a lot about myself. To be out there, I’m very grateful.”

He also said he’s currently at 300 pounds after dropping some weight during rehab, and would like to play in the 305-310 range.

A few post-practice injury nuggets: reserve offensive lineman Ricky Stromberg is in concussion protocol, starting right guard Jonah Jackson is still day to day with a leg injury, and long snapper Scott Daly was carted off the field.

Now on to those Tweets from those in attendance today...
