Three consecutive seasons of missing the playoffs was enough for Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles to move on from head coach Matt Eberflus. While their previous hire wasn’t the right fit, the Bears feel supremely confident that they have the right leader in charge with Ben Johnson on the case now.

Yet, the Bears aren’t placing the blame entirely on coaching. They’ve also made several potential roster upgrades too. However, as Bears training camp is getting ready to kick off, it appears the team may not be done considering upgrades.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Bears recently hosted one-time Pro Bowl receiver D.J. Chark for a private workout. While Chark, 28, did not sign, he is said to be weighing his options.

Though, now that Mike Williams has retired, it’s possible Chark could now be considering an opportunity to return to the Los Angeles Chargers too. Either way, with training camps ramping up across the nation, Chark will likely have a new role soon.

He spent last season with the Chargers, but he only appeared in seven games, catching four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown. Chark has also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions, and Carolina Panthers.
