It’s tough to think big picture during the season, especially when the Chicago Bears are (0-2), but that’s what we’re asking you guys to do with our Reacts survey this week.

Are you confident the Bears are headed in the right direction?

There are three factors I need to consider before voting, and I’ll rank them from most confident to least.

It’s apparent to me that head coach Ben Johnson is learning on the job through two weeks, and that’s fine. He’s feeling out what he can do with his Bears offense and learning how to be an in-game manager. I’m still extremely confident in Johnson’s future.

Caleb Williams was inconsistent in the second half of both games so far, but for the most part, he’s playing on time and working his progressions. He’s taken a step as a pro quarterback under Johnson, and their partnership will only continue to grow.

Unfortunately, it’s beginning to look like Johnson will need to thrive in spite of general manager Ryan Poles. The Bears not only kept Poles around after his team went 15-36 through three years, but they gave him an extension. He’s yet to draft a Pro Bowler, and his latest draft class is off to a slow start. His big money investments haven’t made an impact either.

Overall, I’m still bullish on the Bears’ future outlook, but my patience is being tested.
