With the Chicago Bears rookies and quarterbacks reporting to Halas Hall today for training camp, that means we also get a wave of roster moves.

The Bears announced that linebacker T.J. Edwards was placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list. The NFI list is for players who are injured away from the team’s facilities (practice or games), so this injury is unrelated to Edwards’ broken fibula that he suffered in the Wildcard game. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that it’s a “minor muscle strain” and T.J.‘s stay on the NFI list “should be short.”

The Bears also placed rookie linebacker Keyshaun Elliott, nickleback Kyler Gordon, linebacker Noah Sewell, offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo, and defensive lineman Shemar Turner on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list. The PUP list is for players who are still rehabbing an injury from football activities.

Elliott is dealing with a quad issue; Gordon had some soft-tissue injuries that kept him out this offseason; Sewell tore his Achilles tendon in December; Trapillo is still working back from the ruptured patellar tendon he suffered in the playoffs; and Turner tore his ACL in October.

All these players can remain at Halas Hall for meetings and rehab, but they can not practice until medically cleared and removed from the lists.
