Windy City Gridiron
Whatever bug has been making its way through Halas Hall has claimed another victim.
On Saturday, the Chicago Bears added starting right tackle Darnell Wright to the injury report as questionable with an illness. The team announced he wasn’t flying with his teammates today for their Sunday Night Football matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.
I’d imagine they are hoping his symptoms subside and he could make the 5-hour flight to the Bay Area on Sunday morning for the 7:20 p.m. (CT) kickoff, but this seems unlikely.
If Wright can’t go, look for Theo Benedet to find his way back into the starting lineup.
The Bears also activated offensive lineman Luke Newman off injured reserve, while waiving defensive tackle Jonathan Ford. Newman is still listed as questionable (foot), but he practiced in full yesterday and appears good to go.
The full injury report for the game can be found here.
They also elevated cornerback Dallis Flowers and wide receiver JP Richardson from the practice squad for Sunday night’s game against the ‘Niners.
