The Chicago Bears being (6-3) certainly helps these Reacts confidence surveys skew positively, but I hope the culture shift we’ve been witnessing this season is a big part of it as well. The energy, excitement, and accountability that Ben Johnson and his coaching staff have brought to the franchise have been long overdue.

There have been so many instances this season when the Bears have had the intestinal fortitude to overcome a mistake or withstand a momentous swing, whereas in years past they would have folded.

That’s coaching, and that’s the start of a winning culture.

Another part of a winning culture is beating teams you are supposed to beat, which the Bears have done.

Yet the number one gripe from guarded fans on here, on social media, or on talk radio is: the Bears haven’t beat anybody!

Okay.

Would you rather they lose to the sub-.500 teams?

You don’t go from a franchise with one winning season in the last 13 years to a Super Bowl contender in one offseason.

This will take a little bit of time.

You can’t be the best until you are better than the good teams, and you can’t be a good team unless you can beat the bad teams.

When you realize this franchise has averaged six wins a season since Lovie Smith was let go, I’ll take (6-3) after nine games.

SB Nation Reacts is a survey of NFL fans, and throughout the year, we’ll ask questions of the most plugged-in Bears fans and fans across the country. Besides voting in the polls here at WCG, you can sign up right here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys about the whole league.
