Their 2025 rookie class and some summer free agents will undoubtedly change the Chicago Bears' depth chart, but I wanted to take a look at it before they make their draft selections over the next three days.
Offense (11 Personnel)
-
Quarterback: Caleb Williams - Tyson Bagent - Case Keenum - Austin Reed
-
Running back: D’Andre Swift - Roschon Johnson - Travis Homer - Ian Wheeler
-
Tight end: Cole Kmet - Durham Smythe - Stephen Carlson - Joel Wilson - Jordan Murray
-
Wide receiver: DJ Moore - Devin Duvernay - John Jackson
-
Wide receiver: Rome Odunze - Tyler Scott - Miles Boykin
-
Wide receiver: Olamide Zaccheaus - Maurice Alexander - Samori Toure
-
Left tackle: Braxton Jones - Kiran Amegadjie
-
Left guard: Joe Thuney - Bill Murray - Chris Glaser
-
Center: Drew Dalman - Doug Kramer Jr. - Ricky Stromberg
-
Right guard: Jonah Jackson - Ryan Bates - Jordan McFadden
-
Right tackle: Darnell Wright - Joshua Miles - Theo Benedet
The obvious holes on the roster are another running back and a tight end. Swift is fine, but would be better utilized as the RB2, and Johnson should be limited to spot duty and special teams. Smythe is fine as a backup Y, but I don’t want to see him getting significant snaps in 12 personnel.
Defense (4-2-5)
-
Defensive end: Montez Sweat - Dominique Robinson - Jamre Kromah
-
Defensive tackle: Grady Jarrett - Andrew Billings - Jonathan Ford
-
Defensive tackle: Gervon Dexter Sr. - Chris Williams - Zacch Pickens
-
Defensive end: Dayo Odeyingbo - Austin Booker - Daniel Hardy
-
Weakside linebacker: T.J. Edwards - Amen Ogbongbemiga - Swayze Bozeman
-
Middle linebacker: Tremaine Edmunds - Noah Sewell - Carl Jones
-
Cornerback: Jaylon Johnson - Nick McCloud - Ameer Speed
-
Safety: Kevin Byard III - Elijah Hicks - Alex Cook
-
Safety: Jaquan Brisker - Jonathan Hicks - Tarvarius Moore
-
Cornerback: Tyrique Stevenson - Terell Smith - Nahshon Wright -
-
Nickelback: Kyler Gordon - Josh Blackwell - Shaun Wade
Defensive line depth needs an upgrade, and safety could use a more dynamic number three, but the sneakiest need of defense is linebacker. There isn’t an established starting Sam on the roster.
Special Teams
-
Kicker: Cairo Santos
-
Punter: Tory Taylor
-
Long snapper: Scott Daly
-
Punt returner: Devin Duvernay - Josh Blackwell - Maurice Alexander
-
Kick returner: Devin Duvernay - Tyler Scott - Travis Homer
This is a solid group, but I would not be surprised to see a kicker added to the 90-man roster as a camp leg.
Our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook have some odds on which player the Bears will pick at 10 overall, and the last time I checked, Ashton Jeanty was the favorite at +380. Other players FanDuel believes are in play at ten are Tyler Warren (+410), Kelvin Banks Jr. (+550), Colston Loveland (+850), Mykel Williams (+850), and Shemar Stewart (+1500)....
